About Us

ko mātou te whānau houpapa

Tako Henare Houpapa married Irene Munroe Povey, and they had seven children:
Maui, Terry, Cheryl, Tui, Eileen, Reina and Kia.

Many of their children (and their childrens children) don’t know our whakapapa. So Kia and Reina set up a monthly zoom to share the knowledge, our history and stories of Grandad and Nana.

We meet on the last Sunday of each month, on zoom and have a whanau facebook chat. If you’d like to join, please message either Elly or Kia on Facebook.

Catch up

All the sessions are recorded, and are available for viewing here. All the videos are password protected, reach out to Kia or Elly on facebook for the password.
